Which of the martial arts should I learn?
I’m thinking about boxing, kung fu, tae kwon do, or maybe something else that I know nearly nothing about. I heard that boxing is the best for self defense. I also am a fan of Jackie Chan, and he does Kung fu, so that would be my main reason to choose that one. I want something that will provide self-defense, stress relief, fitness, and fun. I don’t know how much of a difference it makes, but I’m a pretty tall female (5′11”). I don’t have very good upper body strength, but I’m trying to improve that. I am also very flexible. I am a college freshman, so my plan is to join a student club that welcomes beginners. Thanks to anyone who can tell me which one and why I should do it!
Anything…..but Karate. Right, I would usually say Yehhh go do it, but I hate it. I started when I was just six years old and because I got so high in belts my mum and dad said I had to keep going. Well anyway, i’m a black belt now and although I am, I wouldn’t dare do it again. Don’t do Shotokan Karate whatever you do!
